Get advice on your writing from a professional writer!
The Royal Literary Fund Fellows are all professional writers. They offer Queen Mary students individual guidance on written assignments during term time. Appointments last for up to 50 minutes and take place in the RLF tutorials office in the Mile End Library (First Floor West). Students of any subject, undergraduate or postgraduate, are welcome to make use of the opportunity to discuss their work with a Fellow. They can book an appointment at any stage of an assignment, including after an assignment has been marked. There is no charge.
Please Note: RLF tutorials will finish on 24th May. The will restart in October 2019.
Booking an Appointment with an RLF Fellow
Step 1 Send an email to the Fellow you wish to see, saying what you are studying and what you would like to discuss. Provide the Fellow with a few days and times you are available to see them. Please note that there are usually no appointments 1-2 pm. Fellows will reply to emails as soon as possible, but please remember that they are not here every day and have other work commitments.
Please also include a phone number the Fellow can use to contact you if there is a problem; for example, if the Fellow is ill.
- Andrew Martin - Mondays and Tuesdays. Email: firstname.lastname@example.org
- David Watson – Wednesdays and Thursdays. Email: email@example.com
- Rahila Gupta - Fridays. Email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Step 2 The Fellow will reply and suggest a day and time.
Step 3 Please reply as soon as you can to confirm this slot.
Step 4 Go to your appointment!
If you find you cannot keep the appointment please let the Fellow know as soon as possible. This is very important as there are limited appointments available. The phone number for the Fellows is 020 7882 6086.
